Young Rick

A self-described former pimp from Minnesota's Twin Cities, known only from a 2022 Soft White Underbelly interview describing violence he inflicted on women.

Young Rick is known publicly through one source: "Pimp Confessions-Young Rick," a 25-minute Soft White Underbelly interview published on 3 May 2022, which the channel captions as a portrait of "a former pimp in Minneapolis, Minnesota." Everything known about him comes from his own account in that interview. No legal name, age, arrest, charge or conviction has been published by a court or news outlet, and no follow-up or other interview was found.

He says he grew up in St. Paul amid addiction, gang deaths and violence at home, entered the life at about twenty after being drawn in by films and pimp DVDs, and later pimped in Las Vegas with up to four women while heavily using drugs and alcohol.

His account is dominated by what he says he did to women. He describes beating several of them, once with a baton, in an assault he calls horrific; pushing women to keep working with no regard for their health or safety; and hardening himself when women working for him were raped, so they would keep earning. He names manipulation as the core of the trade.

He says he was jailed repeatedly, that a California pimping case against him was rejected by prosecutors, and that he left about ten years before the interview. He describes himself as married and working in trucking, and names his absence from his children as his biggest regret.
