Late the Great

A Los Angeles pimp interviewed twice by Soft White Underbelly who calls himself the "white hoe king" and won't confirm he is still working.

Late the Great is one of a handful of pimps Soft White Underbelly has recorded twice. "Pimp interview-Late the Great" (14 min) was released to streaming platforms on March 1, 2021 and is catalogued by the channel as an "interview and portrait of Late the Great, a pimp in Los Angeles"; "Pimp interview-Late the Great (follow up)" was recorded, he says, "about a year" later. This record draws on the follow-up, which is the video verified as embeddable.

He describes himself as light-skinned with a Black parent, raised "in the hood," familiar with pimp culture "since 1999" after "drug dealing days" spent "beating my feet to concrete." He uses the names "golden state heavyweight" and "white hoe king," and says he prefers to work white, Hispanic and "non-black" women for business reasons. He lists Figueroa, Sunset, the Valley, Skid Row, and in New York Hunts Point, Midtown and Eighth Avenue as places he has worked.

On the women: he says his method is "motivation and inspiration," that a good woman works a shift, makes $700 and "comes back to the house faithfully," and that "the girl with the pimp is looking better and doing better" than one without. He says he is drug-free but that drugs "have been a part of" some women's lives. He says he has been to prison, refers to a pimping charge and to the human trafficking laws that followed, and answers questions about current activity with "I can't confirm or deny," adding that he has "new girls since last time."
