West Side Chicago pimp-persona and occasional rapper whose 2021 Soft White Underbelly interview frames pimping as consensual and distinct from trafficking.

G-Gov, styled G Gov Tha Governor, is a Chicago man who was interviewed by Mark Laita for Soft White Underbelly in a video titled "Pimp interview-G Gov," published in November 2021. He has a small recorded-music footprint—Apple Music lists a 2008 single, "My Swag (I'm a Pimp)," and a 2021 single, "Big Whip Ballin" featuring Black Mac PGD—and his own YouTube channel describes him as a West Side Chicago content creator, gives a birth date of 14 December 1990, and says an early single, "Look at my Swag," received radio play in Dallas. The channel also promotes a self-published book series. All of this is self-description; none of it has been reported by a newspaper or confirmed by any record the archive could find.

The Soft White Underbelly interview is the reason he is in the archive, and its content, as he presents it, is a defence of the trade. He says he grew up around pimping, that his father was a military police officer stationed in San Pedro, Los Angeles, and that he was mentored in Chicago by figures including Bishop Don "Magic" Juan, whom he credits with teaching him to treat people with respect. He draws a hard line between what he calls pimping—a relationship in which, he says, the women choose freely and "a non-contact sport" rule bars violence—and human trafficking, which he condemns. He criticises gang-affiliated pimping in Los Angeles as a corruption of the older code. He also says he has served jail time for money laundering. The archive records these as his statements.
