Cross Country Pimping 5: Truth Be Told (2014)
The 2014 fifth and last Cross Country Pimping film, which its distributor pitched as the life's jail and murder side.
Film card: Too Real for TV / Hood Box Office.
Cross Country Pimping 5: Truth Be Told is the fifth film in Michael Maroy's Too Real for TV documentary series that began with Cross Country Pimping. The distributor MVD Entertainment Group lists a DVD street date of 26 August 2014, a running time of 140 minutes, Maroy as director and Silky Slim and Dae Skrilla as cast. Hood Box Office, which now carries it, calls it "the long-awaited fifth chapter" and spells the second name Dae Scrilla.
MVD's copy calls it Maroy's eleventh film and says it shows the "harsh realities" behind the lifestyle: "jealousy, envy, hatred, jail and murder," adding that the federal government had made the pimp "Enemy Number 1." That is the seller's framing, not a finding. The same copy sets this against the "nice clothes, diamonds, cars and partying" that it says most viewers focus on.
As with the rest of the series, the film is interview footage and records what its subjects say. It does not independently establish any event they describe. Disclosure: this archive is maintained by Hood Box Office, which hosts and sells the film; descriptions quoted from its pages are the seller's own copy.
