Chosen

A South Central pimp who told Soft White Underbelly he started at twelve and had just served fourteen years for murder.

Chosen is the subject of "Pimp interview-Chosen," an eleven-minute Soft White Underbelly video which the channel's catalogue describes as an "interview and portrait of Chosen da P, a pimp in South Central Los Angeles." IMDb lists the episode under 2021. Everything below is his own account; no independent record of him was found.

He says he grew up in Windsor Hills, "the black Beverly Hills," the only boy among five sisters, with "a silver spoon." He presents pimping as inheritance: "I come from a bloodline," naming uncles, cousins and his father. He claims his first woman was a Japanese girl he sent to Seattle when he was twelve, and that a cousin and two older men "put me up on her."

On the women he is direct. He says he currently has three and "the most I ever had was six," including a transgender woman and one he describes as a skilled thief. He insists they choose him and that "I don't force a girl," but in the same breath says "I do keep my foot on that neck" and that breaking the rules brings "consequences." He names Sunset and Santa Monica boulevards as work areas, and says the women sometimes live with him and sometimes in motels.

He says he has "just finished doing 14 years" for murder, and describes the killing as retaliation against a man who beat one of his women with a tire jack. He says he has no children, lives "for the moment" and intends to keep pimping.
