Big Memphis

A Memphis pimp who told Soft White Underbelly a stripper who bought his cocaine turned him out and a woman brings "100% of her money."

Big Memphis is the subject of "Pimp interview-Big Memphis," a Soft White Underbelly video on the channel's YouTube page. He says the streets rather than parents raised him, and that he has been in the game more than twenty years since seventeen or eighteen. He sold drugs first but "my heart never was in it. I liked the women"; pimps "was always cooler than the drug dealers."

His first woman, he says, was Kim, a white stripper who "used to buy powder from me" and offered to take care of him; "I got with her and I just never left."

On the women now: he says he has two, that a woman brings "100% of her money" and in return "ain't no what she can't have," that Memphis rates are "$100, $150" and a woman may see "three, four, five, six, seven, eight" clients a day. He describes women arriving "drunk" and "ready to fight," some "mentally scarred and so banged up," and says that if a woman gets "headstrong" a man will "defend yourself," conceding that intimidation and violence enter the picture. He measures what he gives them in handbags and lobster. He says he has been charged with promoting prostitution, that letting a woman go is cheaper than a trafficking charge, and, on camera, "don't go on YouTube and talk about it." His two adult sons, he says, think it is "the greatest thing."
