Big Knowledge
A Brooklyn ex-pimp whose 47-minute Soft White Underbelly interview frames the trade as a business he left after seven and a half years in prison.
Big Knowledge is the subject of "Pimp interview-Big Knowledge," at 47 minutes one of the channel's longest pimp interviews, catalogued as a portrait of "a pimp from Brooklyn, New York." A blog post about it is dated January 2022. Nothing independent of his own account was found.
He says he was about to turn 44 and was 22 months out of prison. He describes growing up in Brooklyn in the 1980s and 1990s, "the birthplace of crack," with a Panamanian father who made money illegally, and says he was breaking into houses by eight or nine. He says he moved from drug dealing into pimping around 1996 to 1998 after an older man in a strip club showed him what a woman could earn, and was "heavy" in it through the early 2000s, including Midtown Manhattan.
On the women he speaks in the language of management: early on he had "three chicks making a bunch of money"; a woman was "always your status symbol"; she was expected to carry the household, the bills and a bankroll. He rejects beating women, calling it "running out of game," and says every woman who dealt with him is still on speaking terms, though some "don't want to " deal with anyone now. He does not say how many there were.
He says he faced charges carrying 174 years, served seven and a half, and had a child born while inside. He now describes himself as a jeweller who mentors younger men "outside the game" and talks about cryptocurrency.
